Description

THIS LISTING IS FOR 5 SEEDS OF NEPENTHES NAGA
A very impressive relatively new species from the N. bongso – N. izumiae – N. densiflora group.
It’s notable for the forked appendage near the tip of the pitcher-lid.
A typical highland plant. Not difficult as long as the right climate is provided. Cool nights should be provided to grow this plant.
As a substrate I’d suggest a more open mix.
Good components for such mixes are Sphagnum-moss, horticultural perlite, pine bark plus a bit of peat moss. Drainage is recommended.
Nepenthes naga is a recently described species from the Barisan range in Indonesia.
There’s a lot of similarities between this species and bongso but the distinguishing characteristics are leaf shape and an amazing sub-apical lid appendage reminiscent of the shape of a dragon tongue, thus the name “naga” which translates to “dragon” in Bahasa Indonesia.
Some plants grow in mid elevation forest so can be grown under intermediate conditions where they thrive also.
And although not all naga are uniform in color, there seems to be some populations with incredibly dark pitchers.
They are by far the darkest Nepenthes we have ever seen in cultivation or the wild.
